Preparation Priority 1 - Questionnaires
1. A quick informal get-to-know questionnaire about you, found here. This takes about 5-10 minutes. Only share what you wish to share. It's essential to complete this exercise before Session 1.
2. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. (MBTI) The MBTI is a longstanding personality indicator. Even though its validity is now recognises as only modest, it is still a very useful indicator. Professional administration of this instrument is $300+, however a free version is available here on this external website. Please complete the questionnaire, and email your name and result (usually five letters, eg INFP-T or ESTJ-A or similar) to richard@leadingprogress.au This takes about 10-15 minutes. (Note, some people may have already undertaken the professional survey somewhere else, in which case feel free to simply email your result from that survey.) It's essential to complete this exercise before Session 1.
3. Seven Transformations: an exploration of your “transformations of consciousness”, i.e. the ways in which you perceive the world and the ways in which you respond. Click here to complete this form. Please enter your Firstname, Surname, email address, and the cohort code HILDAS26. Then answer the 81 questions. This takes about 10-15 minutes.
4. Lux: a leading-edge project which comprises a strengths-first, descriptive psychological assessment. It is built to help people explore strengths, patterns and potential in language suited to reflection, conversation … and leadership development. Please complete your Lux assessment on the Lux Page. (Note this link is still to be finalised, you will be advised when ready - late Friday 7th Aug). Please enter your Firstname, Surname, email address and cohort HILDAS26. This takes about 25-30 minutes
The information collected will be utilised only for this Program and your responses will only be seen by the two facilitators, and the summaries will be shared with only you. There will be debrief activities during the Program, and you may be invited to share the results of the questionnaires during the sessions - if you wish.
Preparation Priority 2 - Pre-Reading/Viewing/Listening
Reading
Adaptive Leadership
We'll be exploring key concepts of adaptive leadership. This is a style of leadership designed to help people and teams adapt to changes in the environment - and in people's viewpoints. Originated by noted Harvard Professors Ron Heifetz and Marty Linsky, and built on by noted author Ed O'Malley, adaptive leadership is well-known and underpins much good leadership practice.
It's essential to read these three documents before Session 1.
Viewing
There are a wide range of books published on leadership and AI. A selection of these are summarised in the following videos. Each video is only 2-10 minutes in length, are hosted on Youtube, and should play on any device.
It's essential to view at least two or three of these videos before Session 1.
More material will be steadily uploaded during the program.
Between-session activities and Preparation for Session 2
This material will be uploaded after Session 1.
